Patrick Heide Contemporary Art are looking for a Gallery Director / Gallery Manager to join the small team on a full-time basis (4-5 days a week) from January 2018. The successful candidate will coordinate all operational, curating and fair related aspects of the gallery.

Gallery Director / Gallery Manager Responsibilities:

Coordinating the daily administration of the gallery & ensuring its smooth running
Answering enquiries, client & artist liaison & coordinating sales
Maintaining the database with client & artwork records as well as sales information
Managing the participation in art fairs both in London & abroad
Assisting with the planning & installation of 5-6 exhibitions per year
Writing press releases and short texts for web / invites
Managing shipping & insurance, import/export documents
Keeping price / available lists up to date
Liaising with shippers, photographers, restorers, conservators & framers
Organising private views, talks & events
Organising general maintenance and cleaning to ensure gallery is kept to a high standard

 

Desirable qualities of successful candidate:

Two to three years’ experience in a commercial gallery or similar environment
Excellent organising and management ability
Good knowledge of main computer programs such as Word press, Photoshop, Mailchimp, Adobe
Ability to work well within a small team
Excellent interpersonal skills, with good verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of a foreign language favoured
Demonstrable and informed interest in Post-war & Contemporary art
