Patrick Heide Contemporary Art is delighted to present a special screening of Erika Winstone's film Return 2025, with the artist in attendance to discuss the work and her process. In addition to the film, we will also exhibit some paintings, drawings and installation pieces from Erica's residency which form part of the film itself.
In her recent film 'Return 2025' video, slide film, drawings, paintings and still photographs are combined layering recordings and memories from her residency in Greece 2023-2025. In the last section fragments of glass (drawn from her earlier films Hover 2024 and Anna’s dance for my painting, 2023) are seen filmed in front of seas both in Greece and U.K., recording unexpected scenarios and events that occur. 'Return 2025' ends with three slides from a work made in 1980 which connect closely to the watercolour and gouache paintings made in 2025 visible in the beginning section of the film. Woven through her fragmented narrative, there is a building sense of becoming through poetic observation of multiple synchronicities.
